Dear colleagues,

It is my pleasure to give you the last several updates regarding the 5th IYNT 2017. According to the latest information we expect 18 teams from 11 different countries to compete for the medals of IYNT 2017.

1. I would like to share again a few resources prepared by the NTOC including the legal restrictions in China, arrival/departure manual and general tips, please see the documents attached. Take a moment to read them as you are packing your bags.

2. The NTOC asked me to share the following logistical instructions about the arrival:

Our student volunteers will accompany school teachers to pick up teams/TF/IJs at the local airport (Nanjing Lukou International Airport) and railway stations (i.e. Nanjing Railway Station and Nanjing South Railway Station). They will be waiting there holding a sign which reads IYNT 2017, Nanjing Foreign Language School. For teams that are arrving at Nanjing Railway Station (i.e. From our A/D summary sheet, on the 28th, these teams are Russia-Gymnasium 12, TF and IJs), please notify them that after they get off the train at the station, please follow the sign North Square/ North Exit to exit and there will be volunteers and teachers waiting for them. In case something goes wrong, which we greatly hope not, please contact Mr. Felix Hou and his mobile phone number is +8613451922662. His contact info is also included in the A/D manual sent out by WANG Tianyu.

3. Several teams have not sent me their Invent Yourself problem formulations for SF3. I want to remind that it is a compulsory requirement to be allowed participation in SF3. You are not allowed to participate in SF3 until you send me the problem formulations and I confirm that I got them. As of this moment, you have a bit less than 80 hours left.

4. Please don't forget that during the Opening Ceremony on June 29th each team needs to give their team introduction with a time limit of 3 minutes. The format of presentation is open, from a skit or song or dance to a videoclip or anything else you can think of. Props are allowed and team leaders can perform as well. The team introductions are going to be judged and have a small contribution to the overall team ranking.

Apart from the formal judged team introduction, the NTOC wants to organize an informal cultural showcase of different teams before the Closing Ceremony. Please think if you want to present anything and tell the NTOC before the last day of the tournament.

If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Best wishes,

Andrei Klishin
