Gauß-Gymnasium Worms is a public school and one of the three gymnasiums (high schools) located in Worms, Germany that focus on Abitur (the diploma that enables student to enter a university) education. It teaches grades from 5 to 13, offering different profiles for the students to pick from. It has a bilingual focus, where students receive additional English lessons, and in higher grades are taught either Geography, History or Social Studies in English. Another focus is on Nature and Sciences. Gauß is proud to be a "MINT EC School" (MINT = Math, Computer Sciences, Nature, Technology). Students more interested in music love its Big Band and the vocal-line (singing) classes. Its aim is to educate its students to be open-minded young adults who are not afraid of challenge, who are happy to accept responsibility in a globalized world. That’s why it offers exchange programs with Mercersburg Academy in the USA, as well as schools in England, France, Italy and Spain. It has been part of the International Student Leadership Symposium since 2009, and has since then sent a delegation of six students and two teachers to every Symposium. It is honored to be hosting school of 2016 ISLS.
