The first session of speech competition of Cambridge Program
Purpose of the activity:
The competition aims to improve students’ English.
Organisor:
The academic department of the Student Union of Cambridge Program
Requirement for participants:
Participants must be students of Cambridge Program.
Procedures for the competition:
The competition is divided into two parts, i.e. preliminary and final.
1. For preliminary: Academic department of the Student Union is responsible for organising the preliminary competition. Moreover, the preliminary competition must have at least thirty participants.
Game aspect: Free-topic presentation
Topic of presentation: Participants decide their own topic of speech.
2. For final:
Qualification: Candidates must be the first twenties of the preliminary participants in order to be take part in the final competition.
Game aspect: The final competition contains presentation of assigned topics and answering questions.
(1). Assigned topic presentation: Every candidate should present a 1.5-minute speech (marks will be deducted if the time is less than or more than 15 seconds ).
(2). Answering questions: One judge is going to question each candidate based on their content of speech. The time limit for answering is one minute.
Scoring: Marks from judges will be averaged and considered as the final marks of candidates.
